Freez-R-Burn Voted "Best Akron Band"
Freez-R-Burn was voted as the "best local band" in Akron by the magazine Akron Life. The magazine publishes this annual issue which features the best of Akron's dinning, shopping, sports, entertainment and other categories. This was the second year in a row the band was named the "best local band" by the magazine. Freez-R-Burn would like to thank everyone who took part in voting for the band. You guys rock! We also want to thank everyone who came out to a gig or gigs so far this year and continue to show their support for local music.

It's Thanksgiving weekend! Join us at the Lighthouse for a rock-filled Saturday Night. Healthy portions of FRB originals and favorite cover tunes will be served up! It's a great excuse to get out and get away from all the Thanksgiving preparations and leftovers. There will NOT be a cover charge for the show. That's right it's free! There's some incentive for you! So c'mon out and enjoy an evening with Freez-R-Burn. We hope to see you there!
Freez-R-Burn Named One of "Beacon's Best"
Thanks to all of our friends and fans who put us in the top three of the "Beacon's Best" voting! We're very appreciative of all of the voting that made us #1 local band in Akron Life & Leisure in 2010, and which moved us way up in the Beacon's contest compared to last year. We're humbled and energized by your support, and will work hard to continue earning it. Thanks again!!
Freez-R-Burn at E.J. Thomas Hall for "Docs Who Rock"

Freez-R-Burn at the Thirsty Dog Saloon
This is being billed as "Growing Up Akron," and described as the first of what may become an annual "Sauerkraut Ball," a fundraiser in support of Child Guidance & Family Solutions.
CG&FS provides a much-needed safety net of counseling, education and support to youths and their families, serving more than 4,000 children and 1,000 adults each year.
The typical fundraiser might have you dressing up and spending the evening bidding on items small and large. "Growing Up Akron" is different: It's a casual Friday-night happy hour party featuring all things Akron....including, for your musical enjoyment.... FREEZ-R-BURN!
Festivities at the Thirsty Dog begin at 6:00 PM, with FRB playing from 6:30 to 8:30. Enjoy local foods, a bit of local history, and of course Thirsty Dog's fine micro-brews!
Remember, it's a fundraiser. Individual tickets are $40 in advance, $50 the day of the event.
Please RSVP online at growingupakron.com

Freez-R-Burn: Thank You Friends!
Freez-R-Burn says “THANK YOU, FRIENDS,” for a great year in 2009. We appreciate all who helped put us on the “Best Of” lists in both the Akron Beacon Journal and Akron Life & Leisure magazine. We were also excited to see an enthusiastic review of our six-song “Porch Full of Pirates” EP in Buzzbin magazine. DreamSTATE Records included two of our tracks on the DiverseCity 3 compilation. We shared stages and enjoyed the company of many wonderful musicians. A few highlights included the opportunity to play benefit shows for Open M’s Free Clinic, Stewart’s Caring Place, and Nazareth Housing. We also trekked to the Mobile Bay for a show with very special friends. 2009 was one of our best years yet, and we hope for more of the same in 2010. We’re preparing to enter the studio and record a new batch of FRB tunes. For our live shows, we continue to seek interesting new cover songs, and it’s always fun to knock the dust off older selections, be they covers or originals. Please remain securely inside the ride at all times, as it will not be stopping. Thank you for coming along!
Freez-R-Burn Thanks Ya!

PORCH FULL OF PIRATES
Freez-R-Burn
[4 out of 5 stars]
Akron’s bred some great rock talent – Devo, Chrissie Hynde, Tim “Ripper” Owens, the Black Keys, and now Freez-R-Burn. Think R.E.M., Violent Femmes, and Barenaked Ladies jamming with Fred Schneider, and with They Might Be Giants providing the lyrics. That merely scratches the surface of “Porch Full of Pirates.” Impossible to categorize, provocative and entertaining at the same time, this six-track disc was a delight to review. Don’t even think of skipping track 5, “What’s Gonna Happen Today,” a reflective, captivating folk-rock fusion. Second prize goes to track 6, “Running Still,” a Southern-fried celebration of patriotism, hold the xenophobia.
Freez-R-Burn Playing Crocker Park
Freez-R-Burn will play Crocker Park in Westlake Ohio on Saturday September 5th. The FRB experience will begin at 6:00pm.
Freez-R-Burn Playing July 4th Weekend
Freez-R-Burn will kick off the holiday weekend playing at Musica on July 3rd. Eric Oswald and Chris Edwards will be joining FRB for this show. Start celebrating your independence early and come on out to the show! More details are available on the "shows" page.
FRB on DreamState Records
Freez-R-Burn has two songs featured on a new CD called DiverseCity 3 from DreamState Records. The CD has a collection of bands from northeast Ohio such as Freez-R-Burn, Roxxymoron, Maid Myriad, Cassandra Kaczor, Rachel's Secret Stache and more. The two Freez-R-Burn selections are "Running Still" and "What's Going to Happen Today". The bands were all hand selected by DreamState Records. Be sure to pick up a copy which is also available through iTunes!
Friends Bring Out Hearts
Last Saturday night (Feb. 14th) had a lot to offer for music fans in Akron - The Pretenders and Houseguest among the many choices - so we certainly were humbled to have a wonderful turnout at Musica to help Freez-R-Burn help out the free clinic at Open M. Between our take of the door, plus merchandise sales, plus some other spontaneous contributions that are still coming in, we should be able to present Open M with close to $400, plus a thousand ibuprofen. You were a wonderful crowd, and you have our sincere gratitude
Rockin 4 Good
FRB will play at Musica on February 14th. This will be a benefit for the free medical clinic at Akron's Open M Ministry. Bring your valentine and your big old heart over to Musica and have some fun while helping the cause. All band proceeds from the $6 cover charge will go to Open M's clinic, as well as the proceeds from sales of CDs and groovy FRB decals.
